Among the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas, the Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga holds the last and a very revered position, located near the Devagiri mountain in Maharashtra. It is not just a pilgrimage site, but a symbol of the timeless saga of devotion to Shiva. According to mythological tales, a woman named Ghushma used to worship 101 earthen Shivalingas daily and immerse them in a lake. One day, her sister, out of jealousy, killed Ghushma's son, yet Ghushma did not abandon her worship. Moved by her true devotion, Lord Shiva himself appeared, restored her son to life, and asked her to seek a boon. Ghushma requested that her sister be forgiven and that He reside in that place forever. Lord Shiva granted her wish and said that He would be revered there by the name "Ghushmeshwar."
Keeping this faith and tradition in mind, a Shiva Rudrabhishek is being organized at the Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga on the last Monday of Sawan. In this special worship, an Abhishek will be performed with water, milk, yogurt, ghee, honey, and sugar, along with the chanting of Rudra mantras and the performance of a Havan. This puja is for those devotees who have been experiencing some form of mental confusion, physical exhaustion, or an imbalance in their home environment for a long time. The Rudrabhishek performed at Grishneshwar is believed to stabilize the mind and help in keeping one's inner energy simple and balanced.
