Lord Vishnu then used his Sudarshan Chakra to cut his head so he would not become immortal, but since he had already consumed Amrit, he became immortal. The lower part became Ketu and the upper head part became Rahu. It is believed that Rahu’s head fell at this very place in Pauri, which is why this place is known as Rahu Temple.
