In Hinduism, the Ashtami (eighth day) of the Shukla Paksha each month is observed as Masik Durga Ashtami. Similarly, Lord Bhairav is regarded as the fierce Rudra form of Lord Shiva, known for destroying fear and negative energies. According to an ancient legend, when Lord Brahma claimed supremacy and disrespected Lord Shiva, Kaal Bhairav manifested and severed Brahma’s fifth head. As a result, he was cursed with Brahmahatya Dosha and sought redemption by visiting Kashi, where he was ultimately freed from the curse. Since then, Lord Shiva appointed Bhairav as the guardian deity of Kashi, entrusting him with the protection of the city and its devotees.
Similarly, Maa Kali is also a protector goddess who destroys negativity and evil forces. According to ancient belief, during the battle against the demon RaktaBeej, she absorbed his blood with her tongue, preventing him from resurrecting. Her divine power is dedicated to eliminating the unrighteous and upholding dharma. It is believed that Maa Kali not only shields her devotees from negative energies and enemies but also grants them complete protection.
