King Mahijit ruled righteously yet remained childless; a past-life karma of denying water to a thirsty cow was blocking the arrival of a child in this lifetime. Sage Lomash Muni revealed the cause and prescribed Putrada Ekadashi as the remedy. The king observed it with faith, and his queen conceived. Lord Krishna's own words in the Bhavishya Purana: "One who observes this Ekadashi shall never want for a child."
