Khereshwar Temple in Tajpur Rasulpur village is believed to have a very ancient history. According to local beliefs, the temple is associated with the Dwapar Yuga. It is said that when Lord Krishna, accompanied by his elder brother Balram (Dauji), was traveling from Mathura to Ramghat for a holy dip in the Ganga, they rested at this spot. During this time, Lord Krishna installed a Shivling here and worshipped Lord Shiva, which increased the sanctity of this place. Another belief states that the temple was built during the Mughal period by Raja Sati Prasad, a disciple of Swami Haridas, in memory of his wife. Despite the different legends, one thing is clear—Khereshwar Temple has been a strong center of faith for the people of this region for centuries. 2. By Bus Aligarh has frequent direct bus services from various cities. From the bus stand, you can easily find auto-rickshaws, taxis, or city buses. Since the temple is located near Khair Bypass Road, it is easily accessible from the bus stand. If traveling by private car, those coming from Delhi can use the National Highway 91 (NH-91).
3. By Air The nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), New Delhi, located around 130–140 km from Aligarh. From the airport, travelers can reach Aligarh via taxi or bus using NH-91. After reaching Aligarh, local transport such as taxis, auto-rickshaws, or buses can be used to reach the temple.
