Shiva informed him that only Shakti (a form of Goddess Durga) could stop this destruction. Following this advice, Lord Vishnu performed deep penance near the Haridra Sarovar located in Saurashtra. Pleased with his devotion, the Goddess manifested herself as Maa Baglamukhi. The Goddess then calmed the storm and saved the Earth from destruction. Since then, Baglamukhi Jayanti has been considered the most auspicious occasion for the worship of Maa Baglamukhi. On this day, special significance is given to the worship and sadhana of the Goddess, who is revered for her powers to destroy enemies, remove obstacles, and grant divine protection.
