It is believed that in the Satyug, an asura (demon) named Madan received a boon of invincibility from Lord Brahma and began causing chaos across the three worlds. Fearing his power, the gods turned to Lord Vishnu for help. Lord Vishnu revealed that to defeat Madan, they needed the blessings of Maa Bagalamukhi. Pleased with Vishnu’s devotion, Maa Bagalamukhi appeared and defeated Madan Asura. This act established her as the goddess of justice, victory, and the destruction of enemies. The gods, after receiving her blessings, worshipped her to continue their victories.Maa Bagalamukhi is revered as one of the ten Mahavidyas, known for her powerful ability to bring victory and protect her devotees from the evil forces in their lives. This goddess, emerging from the Haridra Sarovar, is also called Peetambara, and her worship is particularly associated with the color yellow. Chanting her 36,000 Peetambari Mantras and performing the Narayan Sudarshan Kavach Yagya are believed to give devotees the powers of control, confidence, and courage, leading to success in legal matters and the removal of obstacles.
