Sawan Kalashtami Kashi Punya Prapti Needy People Seva

🔱 There was a time when Kaal Bhairav had nothing. Cursed by Shiv for his transgression against Brahma, he was made to wander the earth as a bhikshuk, a beggar - his hunger unanswered by gods or kings. It was the ordinary people of Kashi who eased his suffering - who fed him when no one else would. And it is said since that day: Whoever feeds the hungry, pleases Bhairav directly.

While Kaal Bhairav accepts every sincere offering made in devotion, the tradition of Kashi has long held that serving the hungry and the needy is among the highest expressions of Bhairav Bhakti. The poor, the wandering ascetics, and the sacred dogs associated with Him are regarded as His beloved. Offering them food is believed to carry your seva directly to the Lord.

🛕Why Assi Ghat, and Why This Day
The Kashi Khand names it explicitly as one of Shiv's five principal ghats, marking the sacred southern boundary of Kashi kshetra, the point where the Assi river surrenders itself into the Ganga. To serve the needy here, on Kalashtami, in the month of Sawan, is to bring together four sources of punya in a single gesture - Bhairav's city, Shiv's ghat, Bhairav's own tithi, and Shiv's most beloved month, all converging at once.

Travelling to Assi Ghat on the day of Sawan Kalashtami is not possible for every devotee. But Sri Mandir makes your full participation certain. The needy at Assi Ghat will be served food in your name, with the seva carried out on your behalf - Participate Now!

This booking is a collective act of service, made meaningful by everyone who participates. It is a shared contribution, and not an individual offering that comes together for a higher purpose. Through this collective offering, we are able to carry this sacred initiative forward and reach many more people.<
