On this very tithi, King Indrasen observed vrat, tarpan, and sankalp, and his father was freed from the bonds of Yamlok and attained Vaikunth. The Padma Purana's boon: "The punya of Indira Ekadashi blesses 7 generations." And the Brahma Vaivarta Purana's assurance: "No difficulty of ancestors exists that cannot be eased by the devoted punya of Indira Ekadashi."
Indira Ekadashi (the year's supreme pitru-mukti tithi) and Gaya (Earth's finest pitru-moksha teerth) together form life's greatest opportunity for pitru-mukti.
