🕉️ According to the scriptures, just as the 16 days of Pitru Paksha are dedicated entirely to ancestors, similarly Adhik Maas (which comes once every 3 years) holds special significance for continuous 16-day Panda Seva. By offering food, clothing, and seva to the revered Gayapal Pandas (temple pandits) of Gaya, the ancestors of up to seven generations (known and unknown) attain complete moksha.
📜 The Garuda Purana clearly states that the fruits of Panda Seva and righteous deeds performed during Adhik Maas are multiplied by crores and directly reach the ancestors, liberating them from the painful cycle of birth and death and leading them to Vaikuntha.
