🌸Som Pradosh Mahabhishek at Pashupatinath Invokes Shiva’s Grace for Wish Fulfillment and Karma Cleansing!
🔱 Why is Som Pradosh so powerful?
🕉️ It is the sacred evening when Lord Shiva performed His Ananda Tandava, freeing the universe from suffering. When Pradosh falls on a Monday, the day of the Moon, Shiva’s cooling and compassionate energy merges with the calm, creating the most auspicious time for wish fulfillment and karma cleansing.
🔱Why perform Mahabhishek at Pashupatinath Temple?
📿This 200-year-old Haridwar shrine enshrines a rare four-faced Shivling carved from Nepal’s Kasauti stone, representing Shiva as guardian of all directions. Scriptures mention that any Abhishek offered here reaches Shiva in His supreme Pashupatinath form; the Lord of all beings.
🔱 What happens during the Seva?
🙏 Purohitji performs Mahabhishek in devotees’ names with Shiva’s favorite elements like milk, honey and curd while sacred mantras are chanted. Haridwar, the city of pilgrimages in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, is the gateway to the Chardham pilgrimage. One of the main and important pilgrimage sites of the Chardham pilgrimage is Kedarnath, the abode of Lord Shiva. It is said that the journey to Kedarnath is incomplete without seeing Pashupatinath Mahadev, located in Kathmandu, Nepal. To give this belief a complete form, the king of Nepal built a Shivling from the same touchstone stone as the Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu and established the Shri Pashupatinath Mahadev temple near Hari Ki Pauri on the banks of the Ganges in Haridwar. The Pashupatinath temple in Haridwar is a symbol of the shared Sanatana culture of Nepal and India, and here countless devotees from all over the country and abroad come to perform Abhisheka and worship Pashupatinath Mahadev in large numbers and receive the blessing of fulfilling their wishes. Like the Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu, Nepal, regular aarti, worship and Rudrabhisheka of Pashupatinath Mahadev are performed here.
