🌸“Whoever chants ‘Ganga, Ganga’ even from hundreds of miles away is freed from all sins and ultimately attains the abode of Lord Vishnu.” This verse from the Padma Purana highlights why Maa Ganga is known as the ultimate purifier (Papahari) in Sanatan Dharma.
🕉️ Ganga Saptami marks the sacred reappearance of Maa Ganga on Earth as Jahnavi, and scriptures consider this day especially powerful for karmic cleansing and spiritual upliftment. It is believed that on this tithi, she grants relief from Dasha Paap; ten types of sins committed through thoughts, speech, and actions.
📙In many traditional practices, this day is closely associated with the concept of “Das Vidh” (tenfold) purification. Scriptures and regional traditions believe that Maa Ganga has the power to cleanse ten types of sins (Dasha Paap) those committed through thoughts, words, and actions.
🌊 This is why rituals on this day are performed in counts of 10. Devotees take multiple dips in the Ganga, offer 10 types of items, or perform seva for 10 Brahmins each act symbolizing the removal of one layer of karmic burden.
🚩Scriptures such as the Manusmriti and various Puranas describe Brahmans as “Brahmanah mukham yajnasya”; meaning that offerings made to them are symbolically received by the divine itself. They preserve and transmit rituals, and spiritual wisdom that sustain cosmic order. Serving them through offerings and bhojan is therefore not merely charity, but a sacred act of participating in the Vedic cycle of giving and receiving divine grace.
✨ The “10 Paap Nash 10 Brahman Mahaseva” brings together this entire tradition into one powerful ritual where seva is offered to ten Brahmins on your behalf with a sacred Ganga sankalp.
📍 Performing this at Haridwar, one of the Sapta Moksha Puris, further amplifies its effect. Here, Maa Ganga is believed to flow in her most purifying form, making every offering and seva significantly more impactful.
🙏 On 23 April 2026, this Mahaseva will be performed in your name at the holy Ganga Ghats seeking complete karmic cleansing, removal of past sins, and a path toward peace and spiritual upliftment under Maa Ganga’s grace.
