🔱🪷 Make the sacred Krishna-Kali Maha Offering on Kali Chaudas and seek victory over negative forces, along with divine protection from life’s obstacles and uncertainties.
On Kali Chaudas, the day before Diwali, Maa Kali’s divine powers, revered for controlling negative forces, are believed to be especially awakened. This is also the day associated with Shri Krishna’s victory over Narakasura in the Dwapar Yuga, when He liberated 16,000 women held captive by him.
Why Worship Krishna and Kali Together?
The concept of Krishna Kali holds a special place in Bengal’s mystical and Tantric traditions. According to a traditional belief, when Radha faced the wrath of her husband, Ayan Ghosh, Shri Krishna immediately assumed the form of Maa Kali to protect her. The Todal Tantra and Sammohan Tantra are cited in this tradition as declaring that Kali and Krishna are one divine reality.
Both “Krishna” and “Kali” are associated with the meanings “dark” or “deeply dark-hued.” Their deep blue or black complexion symbolises their infinite, boundless and transcendental nature, like the cosmos. While Shri Krishna, as a form of Lord Vishnu, sustains the universe and brings joy and stability to life, Maa Kali represents transformation and destruction, breaking the bonds of ignorance, ego and attachment. Their combined worship is believed to support success in worldly life and the ultimate pursuit of spiritual liberation.
