The Kashi Khand names Assi Ghat among Kashi's five principal ghats. A diya lit here connects with Jal (river's water) - the primary element Shukra himself governs. The Skanda Purana goes further: a diya offered at a Kashi ghat during Sawan carries the same punya as an offering made at Kailash itself, because this is the month Shiv is most fully present in Kashi. On Shukravar, when Lakshmi-Shakti energy runs at its peak, that same diya becomes an offering to Her along with Mahadev and Maa Ganga - all at once.
