World Food Day Special Anna Seva to Nourish the Community
Why Perform Anna Seva on World Food Day?
World Food Day was established by the UN to bring people together across 150 countries around one basic need - food. It is a chance to go beyond awareness and turn it into action. And India has always known this. Taittiriya Upanishad says Annam na parichaksheeta - never turn away one who comes for food. Vedas go further: “Annadanam Samam Danam Trilokeshu Na Vidhathe: - in all three worlds, no seva equals Anna Seva.
What the world is only beginning to articulate, our scriptures have held as the highest truth since the beginning.
