Diwali Shri Ram Pada Chin Yatra Ayodhya to Rameshwaram Deepotsav
Every diya lit on Diwali echoes the welcome Ayodhya gave Shri Ram when he came home. But where did Ram return from? From the same 14-year dharma-yatra - one that began in Ayodhya and passed through Chitrakoot, Nashik and Rameshwaram.
Ram did not treat his exile as punishment - at every halt, he chose dharma as a karma yogi. Wherever his feet touched the earth, that land became a tirtha. “Pada Chin” - the footprint - is the most sacred symbol in Vaishnav tradition. His padukas governed Ayodhya from the throne for 14 years.
Through the Shri Ram Pada Chin Yatra Deepotsav, you can light a diya at four sacred milestones of that very journey:
- Prachin Rajdwar Temple, Ayodhya - the birthplace and homecoming site, where the first Deepotsav in history took place
- Ram Ghat, Chitrakoot - the sacred land of Bharat Milap and the giving of Ram’s padukas
- Nashik Teertha Kshetra (Panchavati) - the exile dwelling and the land where dharma was tested most severely
- Rameshwaram Ghat - where the Jyotirlinga was installed and the final march to Lanka began
At each site, certified priests will take sankalp in your naam and gotra and light the diya on your behalf with full vidhi-vidhan. You will receive an instant certificate from each location upon booking. Video proof of Deep Prajwalan from every site will be shared within 24 hours of 8 November (Diwali).
