🐍✨ Once in approximately 3 years, when Adhika Maas's Krishna Panchami falls on a Friday, the day of karmic harmonisation!
There is a kind of obstacle that does not announce itself. It arrives quietly like when a marriage that keeps getting delayed, a business that collapses no matter how hard you work, a child that does not come despite all prayers, a family that cannot find peace no matter how much love it holds.
Generations pass. The pattern continues. This is not misfortune. This is the combined weight of Kaal Sarp Dosha and Pitru Dosha - two of the most deep-rooted karmic afflictions in the Vedic tradition. And today, on this rare Adhika Krishna Panchami, at the holiest confluence on earth, both can be resolved together, in a single muhurat!
🤔 Why is this occasion once in approximately 3 years?
Adhika Maas (Purushottam Maas) is the sacred extra lunar month that Lord Vishnu himself claimed as his own, declaring that every act of devotion performed in this month is multiplied manifold in its spiritual merit. Next is the Krishna Panchami tithi, the fifth day of the waning lunar fortnight, scripturally designated for Naga worship and ancestral rites.
The Naga represents Kundalini energy, time (Kaal), and lineage - making this tithi uniquely powerful for resolving karmic patterns carried through the bloodline. Friday, the day of Venus (Shukra), which carries a unique energy for harmonising karmic cycles, dissolving planetary bondage, and restoring balance to lives disrupted by Kaal Sarp and Pitru afflictions. These three forces together create a window for karmic resolution that does not open every year.
🐍 Why Kaal Sarp Dosha? And why Shri Nag Vasuki?
Kaal Sarp Dosha is formed when all planets in a birth chart are positioned between Rahu and Ketu - the two celestial serpents that represent the axis of karmic time.
The Padma Purana narrates that after the great Samudra Manthan (churning of the cosmic ocean), Lord Vasuki, the serpent king, who serves as the sacred cord around Lord Shiva's neck found rest at Prayagraj on the banks of the Saraswati river, and at the request of the sages and gods, took up permanent residence there. Kaal Sarp Dosha is the bondage of Rahu-Ketu.
The most direct and scripturally grounded remedy is therefore the worship of the Serpent King himself - Vasuki. This temple is among the most powerful Kaal Sarp Dosha Nivaran sites in India.
🌊 Why Pitru Dosha? And why Triveni Sangam?
Pitru Dosha forms when the souls of ancestors remain unsatisfied, their last wishes unfulfilled, their Shraddha unperformed, their karmic energy still tethered to the family lineage.
The Garuda Purana and Matsya Purana both identify Prayagraj's Triveni Sangam as the foremost site for ancestral rituals in all of India. The confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and the invisible Saraswati connects three worlds and water offered here in Tarpan reaches the departed directly, guiding them toward moksha and releasing their family from generations of inherited karmic debt.
