The Skanda Purana describing Puri- calls this land Purushottam Kshetra and says: "It is here that the Lord dines." Puri is called Anna Kshetra - the field of sacred food because here, food is not merely nourishment. It is the Lord's own bhog flowing through human hands. The Bhavishya Purana declares: "There is no greater merit than Anna Daan." The Varaha Purana goes further: "He who gives food, gives everything worth giving in this world." This booking is a collective act of service, made meaningful by everyone who participates. It is a shared contribution, and not an individual offering that comes together for a higher purpose. Through this collective offering, we are able to carry this sacred initiative forward and reach many more people.
