Also, do not use basil (Tulsi) during the puja of Lord Ganesha. It is said that doing so can anger Lord Ganesha. Moreover, when installing Lord Ganesha at home on Vinayaka Chaturthi, do not leave him alone. There should be someone at home. Also, be careful not to see the back of the idol of Lord Ganesha during installation, as it brings poverty.
During the puja of Lord Ganesha, when you light a lamp, do not change its position repeatedly, and do not place the lamp on Lord Ganesha's seat. Also, on the day of Vinayaka Chaturthi, avoid consuming salt during fasting. Do not wear black clothes on Vinayaka Chaturthi because black colour is considered negative.
