Learn the sacred story of Devi Sita’s birth, believed to be a divine blessing from the Earth Goddess. Her miraculous arrival is a symbol of dharma, virtue, and unwavering devotion.
According to ancient scriptures, Devi Sita’s birth was nothing short of a miracle. One day, as barren land was being plowed, the plow stopped at a certain spot. Upon King Janak’s instructions, the land was dug at that location, revealing a baby girl buried in the earth. Despite being underground, the child had survived, which was seen as a divine blessing. King Janak accepted the girl as a gift from God and named her Sita. The story also mentions that the day King Janak found Sita was under the Pushya Nakshatra, adding to its significance. Sita was exceptionally divine and powerful. She was able to lift the mighty bow of Lord Shiva given to Janak by Parashuram—a bow so powerful that even Ravana, the great demon king, could not move it. Throughout her life, Devi Sita endured numerous hardships and trials. Despite this, she always maintained her patience, resilience, and dedication to her role as a devoted wife. Lord Rama himself acknowledged that he was incomplete without Sita. Hence, it is believed that every devoted wife should honor Devi Sita on her day.
