Learn the sacred story of Maa Kalratri, the seventh form of Goddess Durga, who is revered for her fearsome energy, destroying negativity and offering divine protection to her followers.
According to mythology, the demons Shumbh-Nishumbh and Raktabeej began spreading terror across the three realms, causing the gods to become troubled. The gods approached Lord Shiva for help, and he advised Goddess Parvati to eliminate these demons and protect her devotees. Following Shiva's command, Parvati transformed into Goddess Durga and defeated Shumbh-Nishumbh. However, when Durga killed Raktabeej, his blood drops gave rise to countless new Raktabeej demons. To stop this, Durga took the form of Maa Kalratri. In this fierce form, Maa Kalratri defeated Raktabeej and consumed the blood flowing from his body to prevent more demons from being created.
