Shri Varshney Temple Aligarh

Shri Varshney Temple in Aligarh, known for having the tallest temple shikhara in the city, is one of the most revered and architecturally magnificent temples of the region. The temple’s consecration ceremony of the deity idols was conducted with grand celebrations and elaborate rituals under the guidance of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Pujyapad Shri Madhavashram Ji Maharaj of Badrikashram Peeth.

The holy ceremony began on the auspicious day of Ram Navami, on 12 April 2000, during the Chaitra Shukla Paksha. The event commenced with the worship of Vidya Vinayak Shri Ganesh Ji and Kalash Puja. All rituals and prayers were performed in a traditional manner by the eminent Acharyas of Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Narwar. City Procession of Deity Idols To conclude the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony, a grand procession was held on 15 April 2000, in which beautifully adorned idols of various deities were taken across the city. Devotees gathered in large numbers, and the entire city was filled with an atmosphere of devotion, celebration, and spiritual joy. This grand event not only touched the hearts of devotees but also became a remarkable example of Indian religious traditions and culture. Today, Shri Varshney Temple, Aligarh, stands as a symbol of devotion, faith, and divine splendor.

Shri Varshney Temple is an important religious and social center in Aligarh. It was established in 1995 by the Shri Varshney Temple Society. The temple gained prominence after the unique idol of Lord Krishna was consecrated in 2000. Since then, it has emerged as a hub of spiritual awakening and cultural activities. It has also been included in the 100 Famous Tourist Destinations declared by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Key Highlights: The temple stands 90 feet tall, making it the tallest temple in Aligarh.

It was constructed about 21 years ago.

The main deities worshipped here are Lord Lakshmi Narayan and Lord Krishna.

Laddu & Panchamrit: Boondi laddus are the main prasad distributed after every ritual. Panchamrit is offered on special occasions.

Annakoot Prasad: On Annakoot (a day after Diwali), hundreds of dishes and vegetables are offered and then distributed as prasad.

Makhan-Mishri on Janmashtami: Believed to be Lord Krishna’s favorite.

Holi Special Prasad: Gujiya, namkeen, and thandai are offered during the Lathmar Holi celebrations.
