Lord Vishnu is considered one of the principal deities in Sanatan Dharma. He is also known as Narayan and Shri Hari. Followers of the Vaishnav sect worship Lord Vishnu and his various forms. In Hinduism, Narayan is one of the three main forms of the supreme power, along with Brahma, the creator of the universe, and Shiva, the destroyer. The mantras of Lord Narayan are believed to be very powerful and miraculous. Chanting these mantras brings the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi into the home and removes financial problems from the lives of devotees. Chanting Lord Narayan's name and reciting his hymns fulfills all the desires of the devotee. It is believed that worshipping Lord Narayan helps a person to get rid of sins from both their past and present life, and grants them the fruits of good deeds (punya). If proper worship is done on Thursdays, it is said to bring blessings from both Lord Narayan and Goddess Lakshmi.
The term "Narayan" is derived from "Nar" (meaning water) and "Ayan" (meaning the one who is born or resides), indicating the deity who appears over water. Narayan is a significant name for the supreme deity, and it is said that He manifested in water. The "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya" mantra is a well-known 12-letter mantra for Lord Vishnu. Lord Narayan's many forms and 24 incarnations are mentioned in sacred texts like the Bhagwat Purana and Vishnu Purana. Among these incarnations, the Krishna incarnation is considered the complete one. In Sanatan Dharma, Lord Vishnu, or Narayan, is referred to as the preserver of the universe, and hence, his worship is very important in Hinduism. It is believed that Thursday is the most auspicious day to worship Lord Narayan. Worshipping on this day fulfills all desires and leads to success in life. It is considered especially beneficial to worship Lord Vishnu during Brahma Muhurta (early morning) on Thursdays after bathing and meditating. Chanting simple mantras such as "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya" or "Om Namo Narayan" or "Shriman Narayan Narayan Hari-Hari" with devotion brings blessings.
