Saptami Pitru Shanti Special Saptami Pitru Shradh Pujan and Kashi Ganga Aarti For honouring ancestors who died on Saptami tithi

😔 Are you worried that the souls of your ancestors are not at peace? This sacred puja may help them find comfort and liberation.

Our Sanatan Dharma tells us a very meaningful story about why we honour our ancestors during Pitru Paksha. It is the story of the great hero, Karna, from the Mahabharata. Karna was known for his generosity and would give away gold and jewels to anyone who asked. When he left his body and reached heaven, he was given gold to eat. Confused, he asked Lord Indra why this was happening. Lord Indra explained that while Karna had donated immense wealth, he had never offered food in memory of his ancestors. Karna felt deep sorrow, as he never knew who his ancestors were. To correct this, he was allowed to return to earth for fifteen days to perform their shradh and offer food and water. These fifteen days became the holy period we now know as Pitru Paksha, a special time to remember and nourish the souls of our family who have passed on.

This holy period has specific days for honouring our ancestors. The Saptami Shraadh is specially for those family members who passed away on the Saptami tithi. Performing their shraadh on this day ensures our prayers reach them directly. This puja is being held in the holiest of cities, Kashi, the city of Lord Shiva, where it is said that any soul who departs finds the path to liberation. The shradh will be performed at the ancient and powerful Pishach Mochan Kund. This sacred pond is famous for helping souls who might be unhappy or stuck. After the shraadh, a special Ganga Aarti will also be done. Offering prayers to Maa Ganga, the river of salvation, is a humble request for her to wash away any remaining troubles and guide the souls of our ancestors on their forward journey.

By performing the Saptami Shradh at Pishach Mochan Kund in holy Kashi, you are doing a great duty for your ancestors. This act is believed to bring them deep peace and happiness, freeing them from any suffering. When our ancestors are happy, they look upon their family with kindness and love. It is believed that their blessings can help solve problems in the family, protect us from harm, and bring happiness and success in our lives. This puja is a way to show our love and respect for them and to receive their divine blessings in return, creating a circle of peace for both them and us.

Join this special Saptami Pitru Shraadh Pujan and Kashi Ganga Aarti through Sri Mandir. On this sacred day of Ashwina Krishna Saptami, honour your ancestors in the holy city of Kashi and pray for their peace, inviting their heartfelt blessings into your life.

Pishach Mochan Kund, Assi Ghat, Kashi, Uttar Pradesh

Pishach Mochan Kund, Assi Ghat, Kashi, Uttar Pradesh
The city of Kashi, also known as the city of moksha (liberation), is considered the ultimate pilgrimage for achieving Pitru Shanti (peace for ancestors) and moksha. It is believed that anyone who breathes their last in Kashi attains liberation. This is why many devotees choose to live here during their final days.

The Pishach Mochan Kund in Kashi is particularly known for its importance in Pitru Dosha Shanti. It is mentioned in the Garuda Purana and Kashi Khand, which describe how performing Pind Daan, Tarpan, and Pitru Dosha Nivaran pujas at this kund fulfills the unfulfilled wishes of ancestors and grants them peace and liberation. The history of the Pishach Mochan Kund is very ancient. It is said that this pilgrimage site existed even before the descent of the Ganges. The kund is associated with a story of a Brahmin who became a Pishach (demon) due to his actions. Under the guidance of Maharishi Valmiki, he worshipped Kapardeshwar Mahadev and bathed in the kund to attain liberation. From then on, the place became known as Pishach Mochan.

Assi Ghat, Kashi

Kashi, also known as Varanasi or Banaras, rests on the banks of the sacred Ganga, with Assi Ghat being one of its most revered spiritual sites. Pilgrims from across India and abroad come here to take a holy dip in the Ganga, believing it cleanses sins and paves the way for liberation. Bathing during auspicious occasions, participating in Ganga Aarti, and offering prayers at Assi Ghat are said to bring blessings of health, prosperity, and spiritual growth while granting peace to ancestors.
