🪷 Do not miss the auspicious opportunity of Pitru Dosh Shanti Mahapuja in Kashi on the last Ekadashi of the Hindu New Year. 🪷

🪶 Phalguna Krishna Papmochani Ekadashi is considered extremely auspicious for ancestral peace and self-purification. In the scriptures, this date is called the Ekadashi that grants freedom from sins. It is believed that through chanting, water offerings, and worship performed with devotion on this day, accumulated faults are destroyed and deep peace is felt in the mind. Especially, the Pitru Papmochani spiritual practice is considered effective because it becomes a medium to provide peace to the incomplete deeds of ancestors and to express gratitude towards them. Also, this date is considered as the last Ekadashi of the Hindu New Year, therefore this ritual performed at the end of the year is understood as a special opportunity for freedom from old faults and ancestral debt.

For this reason, Kashi, which is called the land of salvation, holds special importance for ancestral rites. The Pitru Dosha Shanti Mahapuja completed here is seen with a deep spiritual vision. According to scriptural beliefs, when the ancestors are not remembered and offered water systematically, its subtle effect can fall on the family environment. Situations like tension without cause in the house, mutual distance, or mental instability are also linked in this context. Therefore, the Pitru Dosha Shanti Puja performed with rituals by learned Brahmins on this holy Ekadashi is considered a symbol of restoration of devotion, duty, and balance.

Associated with this same ancestral peace practice is the Pisach Mochan Kund of Varanasi, which has been considered a holy pilgrimage since ancient times. There is a belief that by bathing, offering water, and chanting mantras here, the seeker experiences spiritual peace and the feeling of ancestral sin-liberation becomes strong. This site is understood to be connected with internal purification and subtle balance.

Along with this, the Ganga Aarti of Kashi is also considered an important part of this entire practice. Lighting lamps, offering water, and prayers on the banks of the Ganga are considered spiritual acts dedicated to the memory of ancestors. The chanting of mantras, the sound of bells, and the light lines of lamps together create such a holy atmosphere, which is understood as a symbol of devotion, peace, and blessings. In this way, this overall ritual completed in Kashi on Papmochani Ekadashi becomes a medium to strengthen respect, gratitude, and spiritual connection towards ancestors. Devotees can express their faith by participating in this through Sri Mandir.

Pishach Mochan Kund, Assi Ghat, Kashi, Uttar Pradesh

Pishach Mochan Kund, Assi Ghat, Kashi, Uttar Pradesh
Kashi city, which is also called the city of salvation, is considered the ultimate pilgrimage for ancestral peace and attaining salvation. It is believed that whoever takes their last breath in Kashi attains salvation. For this reason, many devotees prefer to reside here in their last days. Pisach Mochan Kund located in Kashi is specifically famous for Pitru Dosha Shanti. It is also mentioned in the Garuda Purana and Kashi Khand, where it is stated that by performing Pind Daan, water offerings, and Pitru Dosha removal puja at this kund, the unfulfilled wishes of ancestors are fulfilled and they receive peace and liberation. The history of Pisach Mochan Kund is very ancient. It is said that this pilgrimage site existed even before the descent of the Ganga. This kund is connected to the story of a Brahmin who had become a ghost (Pisach) due to his deeds. Under the guidance of Maharishi Valmiki, he worshipped Kapardeshwar Mahadev and bathed in the kund to get liberation. Since then, this place became famous by the name Pisach Mochan.

Meanwhile Assi Ghat, Kashi, which is also called Varanasi or Banaras, is situated on the banks of the holy Ganga and Assi Ghat is one of its most revered spiritual sites. Pilgrims coming from the country and abroad come here to take a holy dip in the Ganga. They believe that this bath washes away sins and opens the path to salvation. It is said that bathing on auspicious occasions, joining the Ganga Aarti, and praying at Assi Ghat brings blessings of health, prosperity, and spiritual growth and also ancestors receive peace.
