🪔 Shraadh Paksha is considered the most important period for offering Tarpan to ancestors and receiving their blessings. It is believed that during these days, the doors of Pitru Loka remain open, and through Tarpan, Pind Daan, and Havan, the souls of ancestors receive true direction and peace. Performing Tripindi Shraadh, Pind Daan, and Til Tarpan on Shraadh Ekadashi is believed to reduce the effects of Pitru Dosha, remove obstacles in life, and invite the grace of forefathers upon the family. This day is seen as a golden opportunity to express gratitude to ancestors, pray for their peace, and bring happiness, prosperity, and harmony into the family.
🕉️ In this ritual, Tripindi Shraadh and Pind Daan are special Vedic rites performed for the peace and liberation of the souls of ancestors. In Tripindi Shraadh, three Pinds made of sesame seeds, rice, and kusa grass are offered for three generations — father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. It is believed that this satisfies the ancestors’ souls and bestows their withheld blessings on the family. In Pind Daan, Pinds made of rice, sesame, flowers, and water are offered in a sacred river or pilgrimage site. This ritual is considered highly effective for Pitru Dosha Nivaran and is believed to lead to peace, prosperity, and well-being in life.
🌿 Along with this, Til Tarpan performed on Shraadh Ekadashi is an extremely important Vedic ritual for satisfying and pacifying the souls of ancestors. On this auspicious date, at the Dharmaranya Vedhi in Gaya, Sri Mandir will offer Tarpan with kusa, sesame, water, and mantras. It is believed that Tarpan offered with sesame brings deep satisfaction to ancestors’ souls, and by their blessings, obstacles in life begin to diminish.
