🙏 Are negativity or opposing forces holding you back? Receive the blessings of a divine shield through the worship of the Five Mahavidyas 🙏

At times in life, it feels as though our efforts are blocked without any clear reason. Forward progress slows down, opposition begins to arise, and with success, jealousy also increases. Some enemies are visible, while others remain hidden. During such phases, the mind becomes unsettled and it is difficult to understand the source of these obstacles. The day of Amavasya is considered a sacred opportunity to pacify negative influences and attain mental stability.

This year’s first Amavasya, known as Mauni Amavasya, will remain effective until 1:21 AM on 19 January. From this day, Gupt Navratri also begins. This rare combination offers seekers a powerful opportunity to strengthen protection, stability, and inner strength in life. Scriptures regard this date as highly significant for the worship of the Mahavidyas. According to the Devi Bhagavata Purana, the Mahavidyas originated during a divine episode between Lord Shiva and Goddess Sati.

When Lord Shiva stopped Goddess Sati from attending her father’s yajna, the Goddess manifested ten powerful forms and surrounded Shiva from all directions. These ten forms came to be known as the Ten Mahavidyas. In Vedic tradition, the worship of these Mahavidyas holds great importance, among which five are especially revered.

The Five Mahavidyas and their significance:

Maa Kali: The presiding deity of time, creation, and destruction, who removes negativity and paves the way for new beginnings.
Maa Tara: The goddess of wisdom, compassion, and spiritual elevation, who provides guidance during difficult times.
Maa Shodashi (Tripurasundari): The goddess of beauty, balance, and completeness, who brings prosperity and stability into life.
Maa Bhuvaneshwari: The sovereign of creation, who blesses devotees with success and progress.
Maa Bagalamukhi: The goddess of victory, control, and calmness, who grants triumph over enemies and obstacles.

This special Gupt Navratri commencement anushthan is being organized at the Shaktipeeth Kalighat Temple. By participating, seekers can experience protection, stability, prosperity, and a deep connection with divine feminine energy.

🙏 By taking part in this rare occasion, devotees can experience the spiritual significance of the year’s first Mauni Amavasya and the first day of Gupt Navratri, and receive blessings of protection, mental peace, and stability from the Divine Mother.

Kalighat Shaktipeetha, Kolkata, West Bengal

Kalighat Shaktipeetha, Kolkata, West Bengal
Kalighat Temple, located in Kolkata, West Bengal, is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths of Hindu tradition and is regarded as an extremely important pilgrimage site. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, who is considered the deity of power, energy, and destruction. According to mythology, the toe of Goddess Sati’s right foot fell here when Lord Shiva was performing Tandava while carrying her body. For this reason, Kalighat is counted among the most sacred Shaktipeeths. The fierce form of Goddess Kali is enshrined here, where she is depicted standing on Lord Shiva’s chest, adorned with a garland of severed heads, holding weapons and heads in her hands, with her tongue extended. Notably, the tongue of the Goddess in this idol is made of gold.

The present structure of the temple was built under the patronage of the Sabarna Roy Choudhury family and Babu Kaliprasad Datta, with construction beginning in 1798 and completing in 1809. Kalighat Temple holds immense religious and cultural significance and has been a center of devotion for centuries. Devotees believe that worshipping Goddess Kali here grants freedom from fear, evil, and negative energies, and brings peace, prosperity, and success in life. The temple is also a symbol of Bengal’s cultural heritage, and festivals such as Durga Puja and Kali Puja are celebrated here with great grandeur.
