Kaal Bhairav Temple, Kashi:
Kashi is known as the city of Lord Shiva, and it is believed that nothing happens here without the will of Bhairav Baba. According to mythology, a dispute once arose between Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu over supremacy. When Lord Shiva was mentioned, Brahma’s fifth head insulted Shiva. Angered by this, Lord Shiva manifested Kaal Bhairav, who severed Brahma’s fifth head. However, the skull remained attached to Bhairav’s hand due to the sin of Brahma-hatya. Lord Shiva instructed him to wander until he was freed from this sin. When Bhairav reached Kashi, the skull detached, freeing him from the curse. Since then, he was appointed the guardian of Kashi. Worshipping here is believed to remove suffering, evil eye, and life difficulties.
