Additionally, Wednesday is also considered special because it is said to be the day of the planet Ketu. Worship performed on this day may help reduce the troubles related to Ketu. That is why on the Wednesday of Pitru Paksha, a Tripindi Shraddh and Ketu Graha Shanti Puja is being organized in the holy land of Gokarna.
In the scriptures, Gokarna is considered an important place for performing ancestral rites. The Shraddh performed here is believed to reach the ancestors, and their blessings may be received easily.
