Kali Jayanti Shaktipeeth Special Divya Mahakali Tantrokta Havan For Courage and Protection from Obstacles

According to the Hindu calendar, Kali Jayanti is celebrated every year on the Bhadrapada Krishna Paksha Ashtami Tithi. This auspicious day is considered highly fruitful for worshipping Maa Kali. It is believed that Maa Kali, the beloved of Mahakal, appeared in her Dakshina and Vama forms, known as the ten Mahavidyas. In Hindu scriptures, Maa Dakshina Kali is considered a fierce incarnation. There are various reasons for Maa Kali being named Dakshina Kali, the first of which is that Dakshina Murti Bhairav worshipped her, hence she came to be known as Maa Dakshina Kali. Therefore, worshipping Maa Dakshina Kali on Kali Jayanti holds significant importance.

According to another legend, Yamaraj, the god of death who resides in the southern direction, flees upon hearing the name of the goddess, which is why she is known as Dakshina Kali. It means that Yamaraj, the god of death, whose kingdom i.e. Yamalok is situated in the south direction, also stays away from the devotees of Maa Kali and after death, Yamdoot does not take them to Yamalok. Therefore, it is believed that by performing special puja of this form of Maa Kali, one can receive blessings for the fulfilment of desires and removal of obstacles. Therefore, on the auspicious occasion of Kali Jayanti, Shree Shree Dakshina Kali Mata Mahanisha Pujan, Stotra Path and Havan will be organised at Shaktipeeth Kalighat Temple located in West Bengal. According to legend, this temple is one of the 51 sacred Shaktipeeth, where the right toe of Maa Sati fell here, when Lord Shiva was performing Tandava with her body. Therefore, participate in this special puja through Sri Mandir and receive the blessings of Maa Dakshina Kali for fulfilment of all your desires and removal of obstacles.

According to ancient stories, the origin of Maa Tara occurred at the time when poison emerged during the Samundra Manthan, and Lord Shiva consumed it. This act rendered him unconscious and left him in a perilous state. It was during this critical juncture that Maa Kali emerged as Maa Tara and breastfed Lord Shiva, which then calmed the burning sensation in his body. Maa Tara is considered to be another form of Maa Kali.

Maa Tarapith Temple dedicated to Maa Tara is Located in West Bengal’s Birbhum district. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, described as being seats of divine feminine power or Shakti. Some stories purport that the third eye or the eyeball of Sati had fallen here. Various parts of Sati's body are said to have fallen all across South Asia during Lord Shiva's Rudra Tandav (devastating dance) following Sati’s self-immolation at Daksha’s yajna where she and her husband were disrespected. Worshipping at this temple removes all kinds of crises from the lives of devotees.
