According to the Puranas, Lord Ganesh has eight forms – Vakratunda, Ekadanta, Mahodara, Gajanan, Lambodara, Vikata, Vighnaraja, and Dhoomravarna. Among these, the ‘Vighnaraja’ form is especially worshipped for removing obstacles, protecting from negativity, and making life’s path smoother.

Wednesday is especially considered dedicated to Lord Ganesh. According to religious beliefs, on this day Goddess Parvati created Lord Ganesh, and Budh Dev was also present on Mount Kailash at that time. Pleased by Lord Ganesh’s darshan, Budh Dev dedicated Wednesday to Him, making this day highly auspicious for Ganesh worship.
Scriptures also mention that remembering Lord Ganesh on Wednesdays gradually reduces life’s problems. This is why He is called ‘Vighnaharta’, the remover of obstacles, who clears the path of His devotees and makes life smoother.
