🙏 For every fear you cannot express and every nazar you cannot see, Maa Bhadrakali stands as Kula-Rakshika - protecting your child with the strength only a Divine Mother can give.

🙏 Every parent, across cultures and generations, carries one unspoken prayer at the core of their heart - “May my child always remain safe.” When a child begins to fall repeatedly ill, wakes in fear at night, or shows signs of constant nazar, the disturbance is not only physical - it unsettles the very spirit of a parent. Our scriptures state that children are the most sensitive vessels of energy - they receive divine grace easily, but are equally vulnerable to unseen disturbances. When human vigilance feels insufficient and worry begins to overpower faith, devotees instinctively turn toward the one Devi revered across Bharat as the eternal sentinel of child protection - Maa Bhadrakali, the fierce yet compassionate guardian of innocence.

According to local temple traditions and stories from many regions, Maa Bhadrakali once took a deeply maternal form when villages were suffering from wandering spirits and sudden illnesses. The elders prayed, “Protect our children, protect our homes.” Maa Bhadrakali answered. She stood at the village entrance as Gramadevata, promising:

“As long as my flame burns here, no evil will enter and no child will be harmed.”
From that day, families across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Himachal and Bengal began placing a Bhadrakali shrine at their gates. She became Kula-Rakshika - the Family and Child Protector whose presence shields homes from nazar, illness, and unseen negativity. This same protective form is worshipped this Friday at Devikoop Shaktipeeth.

At Shaktipeeth Shri Devikoop Bhadrakali in Kurukshetra, it is believed that her protection is especially powerful for children. Fridays hold special importance for Shakti worship because, according to Hindu traditions, Friday (Shukravar) is dedicated to feminine divinity - a day when the blessings of Maa are considered softer, more compassionate, and especially protective for family and children. For this reason, many parents choose to perform child-protection pujas on Fridays to seek her day-specific grace. In this puja, Maa Bhadrakali Puja is performed first to seek her motherly shield, followed by the Chandi Havan, in which sacred offerings are placed in the fire to remove negativity and strengthen divine protection.

You may participate in this Shaktipeeth puja via Sri Mandir to ask Maa Bhadrakali to guard your child the way only a Divine Mother can.

Shaktipeeth Shri Devikup Bhadrakali, Kurukshetra, Haryana

Shaktipeeth Shri Devikup Bhadrakali, Kurukshetra, Haryana
Shakti Peeth Bhadrakali Temple, Kurukshetra, is considered a place of immense importance from a spiritual and historical perspective. It is also known by the names Savitri Peeth, Devi Peeth, Kalika Peeth, and Adi Peeth. This is one of the 52 sacred Shaktipeeths, where pieces of Mata Sati's body parts fell after her self-immolation. According to the scriptures, when Lord Shiva was wandering across the universe in grief carrying the mortal body of Mata Sati, Lord Vishnu used his Sudarshan Chakra to cut Sati's body into pieces for the protection of creation. It is believed that the right ankle of Mata Sati fell at this very spot, which made this place an extremely powerful center of Shakti worship.

This temple is also deeply connected to the Mahabharata period. Before the Mahabharata war, the Pandavas came here with Lord Shri Krishna and worshiped Maa Bhadrakali and wished for victory. When their desire was fulfilled, they offered their horses to the Devi as a token of gratitude. This tradition is still alive today, where devotees offer horses made of silver, clay, or other metals when their wishes are fulfilled. This temple is also famous for being the place where the mundan (first haircut) ceremony of Lord Shri Krishna and Balaram was completed.

Full of legends and spiritual energy, this Shaktipeeth is considered an extremely revered site for the grace of the Devi, victory, and the fulfilment of wishes
