The Rahu Paithani Temple, located in Uttarakhand, is one of the few temples in India where Rahu is worshipped. According to mythology, Rahu and Ketu are parts of the demon Swarbhanu’s body. During the churning of the ocean, Swarbhanu secretly sat among the gods and drank the nectar of immortality. To stop him, Lord Vishnu used his Sudarshan Chakra to separate his head from his body so that he could not become immortal. However, because he had tasted the nectar, he still became immortal. The lower part of his body became Ketu, and the upper head part became Rahu. The head, after being cut by the Sudarshan Chakra, is believed to have fallen in Pauri district, where this temple is located. That is why this place is famous as the Rahu Temple.
Kaal Bhairav Temple
This miraculous temple of Kaal Bhairav is located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. It is dedicated to Kaal Bhairav, the guardian or protector of the city. Situated on the banks of the Shipra River, it is one of the busiest temples in the city, with hundreds of devotees visiting daily. This temple is believed to be nearly six thousand years old. It is a tantric temple that follows the left-hand path. In ancient times, only tantric practitioners were allowed to visit, and they performed tantric rituals here.
