Vishnu revealed that only Shakti could stop Madan as Maa Bagalamukhi. To invoke her, Lord Narayan himself performed intense penance at the Haridra Sarovar, a sacred yellow lake. Pleased with his devotion, Maa Bagalamukhi manifested and slayed the demon, restoring cosmic balance.
This divine episode is why Maa Bagalamukhi is worshipped as the Goddess of victory, justice, and enemy destruction. Her golden-yellow aura and the use of turmeric in her rituals symbolize her power to paralyze the speech and actions of enemies, a force known as Stambhan Shakti. She is also revered as one of the ten Mahavidyas and is called Pitambara, the one adorned in yellow. Devotees who worship her gain courage, clarity, and spiritual strength to overcome adversaries, win court cases, and resolve complex disputes. When her worship is combined with the Sudarshan Kavacham Yagya, the results are considered even more powerful. The Sudarshan Chakra, symbolizing Lord Vishnu's time-transcending divine weapon, is said to annihilate all evil and return only after completing its mission.
