According to a mythological story, after traveling through all three worlds, Lord Shiva (Bholenath) comes here at night to rest. It is said that this is the only temple on Earth where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati play the game of Chaupar (an ancient board game) daily. After the night’s Shayan Aarti (bedtime ritual), the Chaupar board is laid out and the sanctum sanctorum is closed.
