Among them, the 7th form, Vighnaraja, is especially worshipped for relief from troubles, protection from negative energies, and success in life. As per legend, on the very day Mata Parvati created Lord Ganesh, Budh Dev (the deity of Wednesday) was present at Kailash. Upon seeing Ganesh, Budh Dev was so pleased that he dedicated his own day — Wednesday — to Him. Since then, worshipping Lord Ganesh on Wednesday has been considered especially fruitful. Scriptures mention that remembering Ganesh Ji on this day naturally dissolves life’s obstacles. This is why He is called Vighnaharta, the remover of all difficulties, guiding devotees towards the right path.
This Wednesday, a Vighnaharta Puja and Havan dedicated to Lord Ganesh will be held at the Chintamani Ganesh Temple in Ujjain, a famous Siddh temple. The temple is named Chintamani Ganesh Temple” — meaning “Silver Ganesh” — because of its 201-kg silver idol of Lord Ganesh.
