According to the scriptures, the Lalita Sahasranama Stotra was first heard by Goddess Parvati’s son, Kartikeya, from his father, Lord Shiva. Many sages have recited this stotra and pleased the Goddess, attaining great spiritual powers. Therefore, it is believed that in Kaliyuga, whoever worships the Goddess with these thousand names will have all their wishes fulfilled. Furthermore, if this worship is performed at the Lalita Mata Temple, a Shaktipeeth in Prayagraj, it becomes even more powerful, as this temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeethas. It is believed that the finger of Goddess Sati fell at this sacred site. Devotees who visit this temple receive the fulfillment of their wishes, and any rituals performed in the presence of the Goddess here never go in vain. It is said that devotees who perform this special worship at this Shaktipeeth on a Friday will have all their wishes fulfilled by the grace of the Goddess.
