🌿 Mondays of Sawan are dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva and are considered the most spiritually charged days of the year for invoking His blessings. Devotees believe that during this sacred month, prayers and rituals performed on Somvar (Monday) are especially fruitful and bring divine grace more swiftly. It is said that Lord Shiva, the easily pleased one, showers his blessings of health, peace, and protection on those who remember Him sincerely during Sawan.
Therefore, on the upcoming Sawan Somvar, Sri Mandir is organising the 7 Days of Mahamrityunjay Bhavya Shringar with 56 Bhog Seva and Rudrabhishek at the sacred Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga. This 7-day puja will begin on Monday and continue throughout the week. Each day, a grand Shringar Seva will be offered to Lord Shiva, adorned with beautiful flowers, clothes, and ornaments. Alongside, 56 Bhog (divine food offerings) will be dedicated with devotion, and the deeply revered Rudrabhishek ritual will be performed daily.
🔱 Performed at the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, this puja carries special significance. According to legends, after roaming the three worlds, it is here that Lord Shiva comes to rest each night. It is also said that this is the only place where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati play a divine game of chaupar every night after shayan aarti.
Though the sanctum remains sealed overnight, the board is mysteriously found disturbed every morning, adding to the mystical aura of this sacred temple.

According to mythology, after traversing the three realms, Lord Shiva comes here to rest at night. It is said that this is the only temple on earth where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati play a divine game of dice (chaupar) every night. After the evening shayan aarti (ritual before sleep), the chaupar board is laid out inside the sanctum, which is then sealed. Remarkably, though no one enters the inner sanctum at night, the dice board is always found disturbed in the morning, which adds to the mystical and spiritual aura of the temple.
