Barbarik possessed three unfailing arrows and had vowed to always support the weaker side in any battle. So, for the greater good, Krishna requested Barbarik’s head in sacrifice — which he joyfully gave. Touched by his sacrifice, Krishna blessed him, saying that in Kaliyug, he would be worshipped in Krishna’s name – Shyam.
