When Lord Shiva arrived at Parvati’s wedding in a terrifying form, everyone trembled in fear. To calm them, Parvati took the radiant form of Chandraghanta – golden, ten-armed, riding a tiger, fierce yet smiling with compassion. Her presence removed fear from all hearts, and Shiva revealed his divine form. This story shows her power to destroy suffering (Durgati Nashini) while restoring peace within.

On Ashwina Shukla Tritiya, a special Chandraghanta Durgati Nashini Svar Shakti Puja with 10,000 Chandra Mool Mantra Jaap is performed at Nav Durga Temple, Katra. White flowers, milk, and kheer are offered to invoke peace and heal emotional wounds. Jasmine symbolizes serenity, while camphor clears negativity.
