🛕 Why is Katra Tirth considered spiritually powerful?
Katra Tirth, located in the Trikuta Hills of Jammu, is one of India’s most revered pilgrimage sites. It is spiritually linked with Vaishno Devi Dham, and it is believed that the energies of three goddesses - Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Kali - reside here. According to ancient legends, when righteousness was in decline, the Tridevi (three goddesses) combined their powers and incarnated as Vaishnavi, born into a Brahmin family and deeply devoted to Lord Rama. She later came to the Trikuta mountains to meditate and perform intense sadhana. However, a tantric named Bhairavnath began to follow her. To protect herself and restore order, she took the form of Maa Durga and defeated Bhairavnath, whose severed head fell at the place now known as the Bhairavnath Temple. Pleased by his repentance, she forgave him and granted him moksha, along with a blessing that every pilgrim must visit his shrine to complete their yatra. Because of this powerful story, it is believed that any puja or ritual performed in this region grants divine protection from negativity and enemies.
