Aaku Puja: Butter (Venna) is gently applied to betel leaves and offered to the deity, symbolising the cooling of Hanuman’s fierce energy and the softening of life’s challenges. This ritual is believed to remove negativity and bring sweetness and balance into one’s life.
108 Vada Mala Archana: A grand garland made of crispy urad dal fritters (vada) is offered to Lord Hanuman. This deep act of devotion, using 11 to 108 vadas, represents surrender, humility, and the heartfelt desire to receive Hanuman’s blessings for strength and success.

According to legend, Lord Hanuman discovered a Saligrama stone shaped like Lord Vishnu while bathing in the Gandaki River in Nepal. Passing through Namakkal, he entrusted the stone to Goddess Lakshmi, who was meditating after Lord Narasimha killed Hiranyakashyap. When Hanuman failed to return in time, the stone was placed on the ground, grew into a mountain, and became immovable. Lord Narasimha appeared and declared the place as his abode, and today, Hanuman’s idol stands paying obeisance to Lord Narasimha Swamy, whose temple is located nearby. The hillock in Namakkal is also believed to be the one brought by Lord Hanuman from Nepal, adding to the temple’s spiritual and cultural significance.
