This temple dedicated to Lord Shani is known as a 'Jagrut Devasthan,' meaning that Lord Shani himself is present in the form of a stone idol. According to religious beliefs, performing Shani puja and offering sesame oil at this ancient temple can provide relief from the effects of Shani Saade Saati. According to astrology, Shani Saade Saati is often considered adverse and is divided into three phases of two and a half years each. At the same time, the Mahadasha of Shani lasts for 19 years. During this phase, Saturn has both positive and negative effects depending on the individual karma and the position of the planet in the horoscope.
