It is believed that performing the Pitru Dosh Nivaran Tripindi Shradh Mahapuja on Amavasya grants liberation from Pitru Dosh. The Pitru Dosh Shanti Tripindi Shradh Mahapuja is a divine ritual performed for the peace of ancestral souls, in which the ancestors are respectfully offered "Pind Daan" (sacred food offerings). According to the scriptures, offering "Pind Daan" brings peace to the souls of the ancestors and helps them attain salvation. Furthermore, if this puja is performed at a holy site, its significance increases. In Hindu traditions, the Panchatirtha Vedi includes the Dharmaranya Vedi. It was here, on the banks of the Phalgu River, that the Shradh rituals and Pind Daan were performed for the peace and salvation of King Dasharatha's soul. The significance of this place is also mentioned in the Vayu Purana, Garuda Purana, and Vishnu Purana. This is why performing Shradh for ancestors at this location holds great importance.
