During the wedding, a holy fire was lit in the fire pit (Agni Kund) in front of the temple, and it still burns today. This eternal flame, known as the Akhanda Jyoti or Akshaya Agni, symbolizes the everlasting union of Shiva and Parvati. The temple’s architecture closely resembles that of Kedarnath Temple and is believed to have been built by Adi Shankaracharya.
The temple also features four sacred water ponds—Rudra Kund, Vishnu Kund, Brahma Kund, and Saraswati Kund—bathing in which is said to bring spiritual merit and marital happiness.
