As per the Puranas, Radha is considered an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi. It is said that Radha accompanies Krishna in all His incarnations; just as during the incarnations of Lord Vishnu as Rama and Krishna, Goddess Lakshmi incarnated as Sita and Radha, respectively. Thus, to please Radha Rani, who is considered a form of Goddess Lakshmi, the Sri Suktam Path, apart from her Abhishek, is considered a highly effective ritual. The Rig Veda mentions that chanting "Sri Suktam" to please Goddess Lakshmi can fulfil one's desires. Therefore, to please Radha Rani, who is a form of Goddess Lakshmi, one can perform the Sri Suktam Path. If performed on an auspicious day or in a favourable yog, the results of this ritual become even more powerful. Hence, on the auspicious occasion of Radha Ashtami, a special Radha Rani Panchamrit Abhishek and Sri Suktam Path will be organised. This year, the day of Radha Ashtami coincides with Ravi Yog. On this favourable occasion, this special puja will be organized at the Shri Radha Damodar Temple in Mathura. On this day, there is also a tradition of donating yellow clothes.
