Sawan Shivratri Kanwar Yatris Maha Bhojan Seva

🚶He has walked for days, barefoot without sleep, just "Bol Bam" on his lips and Ganga Jal on his shoulders. And right now, at Haridwar's Ganga Ghat, on the most sacred Sawan Shivratri, he is hungry. This is a Kanwariya. And the moment you feed him, you are not feeding a man. You are feeding Shiva.

🔱 Why Sawan Shivratri is Most Sacred Day of the Kanwar Yatra
For an entire month, millions of devotees undertake one of Sanatan Dharma's most extraordinary pilgrimages – the Kanwar Yatra. Carrying holy Gang Jjal from Haridwar, they walk for days, often over a hundred kilometres, without footwear, enduring rain, fatigue, and physical hardship with only one resolve to offer that sacred water to Mahadev on Sawan Shivratri.

The tradition itself traces back to the story of Samudra Manthan, when Lord Shiva consumed the deadly Halahal poison to save creation. As the poison burned within Him, the Devas continuously poured Ganga Jal over Him to cool His divine form. Every Kanwariya recreates this sacred offering, carrying Gangajal with devotion so it may once again be offered to Mahadev.

🙏 When You Feed a Kanwariya, Your Seva Reaches Mahadev
The Shiva Purana teaches that serving the devotees of Lord Shiva is as sacred as worshipping Shiva Himself. A Kanwariya is not an ordinary traveller. Every step he takes is an act of tapasya. Every blister is a mark of devotion. Every chant is a prayer. Offering food to such a devotee is far more than an act of kindness, it is a sacred offering to the one who has dedicated his body, mind, and journey to Lord Shiva.

This Sawan Shivratri, participate in Kanwariya Bhojan Seva at Haridwar's Ganga Ghat through Sri Mandir and become a part of the journey that millions undertake in Mahadev's name. Sometimes, the greatest offering to Shiva is not what is placed upon the Shivling, but what is lovingly placed into the hands of one who walks towards Him.

This booking is a collective act of service, made meaningful by everyone who participates. It is a shared contribution, and not an individual offering that comes together for a higher purpose. Through this collective offering, we are able to carry this sacred initiative forward and reach many more people.
