Children's Day Puri 101KG Khichdi Annadaan Seva in your Child's Name
Why Perform Anna Seva on Children’s Day?
Children’s Day marks the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who believed every child deserves to feel cared for, nourished and celebrated. This Seva turns that belief into an act of kindness. Your child’s name becomes part of bringing nourishment to another child’s life. Not through a gift or a grand gesture, but through something simple and deeply meaningful: one child’s name becoming the reason another child receives a meal. Why perform this Seva in Puri?
A beloved traditional story tells of Lord Jagannath appearing as a child at a poor devotee’s home, simply to eat the Khichdi she had prepared with love. Even today, Balya Bhog at Puri celebrates this tender connection between the Lord and childhood, through simple food offered with devotion. Lord Jagannath is also revered as the divine presence within Anna itself. Performing Khichdi Seva in Puri, in your child’s name, is therefore a way to seek His blessings while nourishing another child.
Through Sri Mandir, the complete 101KG Khichdi Annadaan Seva will be performed in Puri on Children’s Day, in your child’s name. A video of the Seva will reach you within 24–48 hours.
This booking is part of a collective act of service, made meaningful by everyone who participates. Every contribution helps carry this sacred initiative forward, allowing more children to receive nourishment through the shared spirit of Seva.

Mahadaan is a very virtuous and fruitful donation, which has been mentioned repeatedly in the Vedas and Puranas. When a person performs the highest acts like food, clothing and grains with devotion and selflessness, it is called Mahadaan. This donation not only destroys the sins of the donor, but also satisfies the ancestors, gods and sages and liberates him from the bondage of karma of many births!
