Learn the touching story of Yasoda Jayanti, where devotees honor the divine bond between Yashoda and Lord Krishna, seeking blessings for unconditional love, family harmony, and divine grace.
According to the ancient scriptures, there was a time when Yasoda performed intense penance to please Lord Vishnu. Impressed by her devotion, Lord Narayan appeared before her and asked her to request a boon. Yasoda expressed her only desire: she wanted Lord Vishnu to become her son and give her the honor of being called his mother. Smiling, Lord Vishnu assured Yasoda that her wish would be fulfilled. He revealed that he would take birth as the son of Devaki and Vasudev, but he would be raised by her. He promised that the entire world would know her as his mother. Time passed, and the divine event finally occurred. Lord Krishna was born as the eighth child of Vasudev and Devaki. To save the infant from King Kansa’s wrath, Vasudev entrusted baby Krishna to his dear friend Nanda’s household. This fulfilled the boon Lord Vishnu had granted to Yasoda. Yasoda showered immense love and affection on Krishna, creating a bond that words cannot describe. As described in the Srimad Bhagavatam, the blessing that Yasoda received was so exceptional that even Lord Brahma, Lord Shiva, and Goddess Lakshmi had never received such a privilege.
