Papankusha Ekadashi Kashi Gangotri Combo Special Pitru Dosh Shanti Mahapuja and Gangotri Dham Ganga Abhishek Puja for Peace of Ancestor's souls and Resolving Family Disputes

In Hinduism, Ekadashi dedicated to Lord Vishnu holds special significance. There are a total of 24 Ekadashi in a year and one Ekadashi falls in Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha every month. According to the Hindu calendar, the Ekadashi tithi of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month is called Papankusha Ekadashi. From a religious perspective, Papankusha Ekadashi holds great importance. This day is considered one of the most auspicious day for pleasing Lord Vishnu. It is believed that performing proper worship of Lord Vishnu on this day alleviates all hardships. Additionally, those who perform Pitru Dosh Shanti Puja, Pitru Tarpan, and Pind Daan on this day help their ancestors attain liberation from the cycle of birth and death, and Lord Vishnu grants them a place in his abode. According to religious beliefs, performing Pitru Puja in the sacred city of Kashi holds a unique significance. It is believed that performing the Pitru Dosh Shanti Mahapuja at the Pishach Mochan Kund located here brings peace to the souls of ancestors and resolves family disputes arising due to Pitru Dosh.

The Ganga Abhishek Puja at Gangotri Dham holds special significance. It is believed that performing the Abhishek at this sacred place washes away all sins and brings spiritual peace. According to legends, it was at Gangotri Dham where Goddess Ganga descended to Earth. It is said that at this very place, King Bhagirath, an ancestor of Lord Rama, performed penance to please Lord Shiva. Pleased with his penance, Lord Shiva appeared here and calmed the fierce flow of Maa Ganga by holding her in his matted hair. Therefore, on the auspicious occasion of Papankusha Ekadashi, the Pitru Dosh Shanti Mahapuja will be organised at the Pishach Mochan Kund in Kashi, along with the Ganga Abhishek Puja at Gangotri Dham. Participate in this puja through Sri Mandir and receive blessings for the peace of ancestor's souls and resolving family disputes.

Pishach Mochan Kund, Ganga Ghat, Kashi, Gangotri Dham, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh
In the mystical realm of Kashi, the city of salvation, tranquillity befalls the departed souls. The belief echoes that drawing the last breath here leads to liberation, drawing numerous seekers to make Kashi their final abode. At the heart of this spiritual haven lies the revered Pishach Mochan Kund, where Pitru Dosh Shanti Mahapuja takes place. Here, the unfulfilled desires of ancestors find fulfilment, paving the way for their ultimate liberation. According to Kashi Khand, the origin of Pishach Mochan Moksha Teerth Sthal predates even the descent of Mother Ganga on Earth. A peepal tree near the Kund is believed to house unsatisfied souls awaiting their kin to perform rituals for their salvation. Performing Pitru Dosh Shanti Mahapuja here frees ancestors from all debts and grants them liberation from impediments.

Uttarakhand is known as the land of gods. The sacred Char Dham Yatra is undertaken in this divine land. One of the holy places on this sacred land is Gangotri. In the second leg of the Char Dham Yatra, the journey to Gangotri is undertaken. Gangotri is the source of the Ganga River. It is believed that worshipping Maa Ganga at this place fulfils all the wishes of the devotees. According to the Hindu mythology, Bhagiratha had performed penance for his ancestors to attain Moksha and after his tireless efforts, Maa Ganga arrived on earth, but the speed of Maa Ganga was so fast that if she would have fallen directly on earth, the earth would have destroyed. A situation of disaster would have been created and she would have gone to the netherworld. On the tireless prayers of the devotees, Lord Shiva gathered Ganga in his Jata (locks) and after that Maa Ganga reached the earth via Kailash and saved the ancestors of Bhagiratha. Due to Bhagirath's efforts, the Ganga flowing from Gomukh is also known as Bhagirathi. After flowing some distance, when it merges with the Alaknanda River at Devprayag, it is known as Ganga. It is believed that the stone on which King Bhagirath meditated is still present here and is known as Bhagirath Shila. It is believed that whoever worships at Ganga Ghat in Gangotri Dham on the auspicious day of Ganga Dussehra receives the blessings of Maa Ganga. She grants them purity, prosperity, liberation from sins, and divine grace for their spiritual journey.
